Girl School
I always joke that I failed girl school and need remedial coursework. Today though, I started a facial regimen. Eeek. Three different products-- exfoliating cleanser and toner followed by a moisturizer. (I even had my choice of two different moisturizers). I decided I am too old to have acne. So that seems to mean I need to take better care of my skin.

Hi there.

I thought your comment about failing "girl school" was so funny I had to comment. I used to feel like that. I never knew what to do to take care of my face, but then I kind of figured it out. Did you get all your products from a dermatologist? I went out at one point in an effort to clear up my face and bought the grand trifecta of facial care (cleanser with exfoliant, moisturizer, and toner), and my face went into rashy, red revolt. Turns out my skin is really sensitive and couldn't handle that type of new routine all at once. My advice (which I realize is totally unsolicited) is to be really careful with that stuff, and make sure to buy products geared for sensitive skin at first. Good luck with your girl school higher education! And I was just thinking about it, and I don't remember you having bad skin at all, so my other piece of advice is to not get too self-conscious about it.

I didn't get them from a dermatologist- but I picked things that I liked individually. No irritation!

I have just had some icky painful breakouts lately. I wouldn't say I have bad skin. I just want to prevent those oh-so-wonderful-makes-me-feel-sixteen-again ones that pop up so inconveniently.

I have even discovered that it makes me good to take a few minutes to primp :) This might be a slippery slope though....
